Britney Spears Is a Blonde…Again!

After spending the past couple months as a brunette, Britney Spears has gone back to blonde.

And not only did she change up the color, she also got some fresh new extensions. While the choppy, shorter hair on top brings back bad memories of another recent hair disaster, Brit does look happy, and really, isn’t that all that matters?

Of course, the following day Britney emerged for a braless Starbucks run. Her hair color may change every two months, but Frappuccino love is forever.

Michael Jackson Unseats Britney Spears As Top Yahoo Search

Every year, there are always a few topics that light the Internet on fire and dominate search engines. This year saw a handful of topics taking up plenty of online real estate, including Kanye West’s interruption of Taylor Swift at the MTV Video Music Awards, the drama between Jon and Kate Gosselin, and the amazing rise of Susan Boyle. But in a development that should not shock anybody, Yahoo announced today that its top search of the year was Michael Jackson, who passed away suddenly back in June and has since been the subject of tributes, legal disputes and the concert documentary “Michael Jackson’s This Is It.”

Jackson’s ascension to the top search term ends the reign of Britney Spears, who has spent the last four years at #1 on the list. (Spears’ popularity is still gigantic, though — she clocked in at #5.)

The list of the most searched-for terms at Yahoo reads like a digest of the year’s biggest pop-culture phenomena. “Twilight” came in second place, followed close behind by WWE and Megan Fox. “American Idol” also charted at # 7. Jackson’s presence in the top 10 pushed out Barack Obama, who finished at # 11.

Jackson and Spears finished in the top two among the most searched-for music artists, a list that also includes the likes of Beyoncé, Miley Cyrus, Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift.

Among the news stories that people were searching for, Yahoo noted that various searches about the economy, swine flu, the “Cash for Clunkers” program and health-care reform were on the minds of searchers on the Web.

Jackson’s ubiquity is unlikely to subside any time soon, as the “This Is It” DVD hits shelves in January, and the criminal charges regarding his death are expected to come down at some point in 2010.

Kevin Federline to join Britney Spears in Australia

BRITNEY Spears is set to bring some baggage from her past when she hits Australia for her national tour next month - her ex-husband Kevin Federline.

Federline is to jet in to look after the couple’s two boys, Sean Preston, 4, and Jayden James, 3, while Spears tours and is also planning on raising money for a children’s charity.

Federline, who has put on weight since he was a back-up dancer for Spears, is also expected to be looking newly slim when he arrives in Australia.

A contestant on US reality show Celebrity Fit Club, Federline has already lost 20kg and is expected to be looking even leaner. He and the boys will join Spears for her concert leg in Brisbane.

Swedish Press To Boycott Britney Spears Show

Stockholm, Sweden (CNS) - The Swedish press don’t want a piece of Britney Spears. In fact, they’re planning on boycotting the pop star’s upcoming tour date in Stockholm.

Spears will perform at the Globe Arena on Monday but Sweden’s four national newspapers won’t be covering it, citing diva-ish demands in her contract for use of the pictures taken by photographers at the concert. Spears’ contract asks media outlets wishing to photograph the event not to publish the photographs after 30 days and that none of the pictures can be offered for resale.

They also prohibit the papers from publishing pictures of Spears which could be deemed unflattering. They also ask that Spears be given ownership rights to pictures her and her management find favorable.

“If they don’t rip up the contract, we’re not going to take any pictures,” photo editor at Dagens Nyhter Roger Turesson told Swedish newspaper The Local.

Expressen, Aftonbladet, and Svenska Dagbladet are among the other newspapers keeping their photographers out of the “Circus.” Newspapers in Denmark, where Spears will perform on Saturday, may follow the boycott as well.

“We never agree to give up ownership rights to our own material,” said Svenska Dagbladet photo editor Joakim St?hl.

Spears and her management drew up the contract and its conditions themselves.

Britney Spears Fan Rushes Stage in Connecticut

UNCASVILLE, Conn. (Hollywood Today) 5/4/09 – Britney Spears ended the American leg of her “Circus” concert tour Sunday, but the performance wasn’t nearly as memorable as the night before. During the first of two appearances at the Mohegan Sun Arena on Saturday night, an allegedly drunk fan rushed the stage and was mere feet from the singer when a backup dancer took action, ushering him away.

Celebrity tabloid TMZ posted amateur video of the event, which showed 20-year-old Kyle King running up the stairs and dancing within arm’s length of the singer as she sang recent hit “Womanizer” while clad in a modified policewoman’s uniform. After the dancer escorted the young interloper away from Spears, other performers pulled him off camera.

Connecticut State Police, who placed King under arrest, told the Web site he had been drinking. They charged him with breaching the peace for his original actions and interfering with police for refusing to cooperate with officers while in custody.

Spears, 27, didn’t noticeably react to King’s presence and the show continued with minimal deviation from the routine from the backup dancers who handed him over to security.

The “Circus” tour, officially titled “The Circus Starring: Britney Spears,” began on March 3 in the celebrity’s home state of Louisiana in New Orleans. The last North American performance will be on Tuesday at Montreal’s Bell Centre, before the tour restarts in Europe on June 3.

Britney Spears fights for gay rights

The ‘Circus’ singer - who passionately kissed Madonna on stage at the MTV Awards in 2003 - has vowed to fight for homosexual rights.

Writing on her Twitter page, Britney said: “Love is love! People should be able to do whatever makes them happy. I have lots of gay and lesbian friends and I want to see them get married.

“I’ll do whatever it takes to make their dreams come true. Discrimination has no place in America.”

Meanwhile, the 27-year-old pop star is currently struggling with the choreography in her current tour ‘The Circus Starring Britney Spears’.

The dance routines are reportedly so demanding they make her vomit.

A source told Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper: “The choreography is insane - it’s so fast it is really taking its toll on her. But there is one move during ‘Touch Of My Hand’, where two guys dangle from the ceiling and pick her up upside down, which is really getting to her.

“She spins around for nearly five minutes some nights. The blood rushes to her head and when she gets down she complains of nausea and dizziness. There have been a couple of times when she ran off stage and vomited. She’s asked if it can be changed.”

Britney Spears’ ex-boyfriend ordered to stay away

LOS ANGELES (Reuters Life!) - Britney Spears’ former boyfriend, photographer Adnan Ghalib, was ordered on Wednesday to stay away from the singer and her family for three years.

Ghalib, 36, was one of a pack of paparazzi who tracked Spears day and night at the height of her high-profile personal and career meltdown in late 2007 and early 2008. He briefly dated the pop princess.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Aviva Bobb imposed a restraining order on Ghalib until March 2012. Bobb also extended a temporary stay away order against the singer’s former self-styled manager, Sam Lutfi, until April 1.

The orders require Lutfi and Ghalib to stay at least 250 yards (meters) from Spears, 27, her parents and her two young sons.

Lawyers for Spears’ father Jamie, who was appointed by the court to handle the singer’s personal and business affairs more than a year ago, had accused Ghalib and Lutfi of trying to undermine Jamie Spears’ legal conservatorship.

Lutfi and Ghalib were Spears’ companions when her life spiraled downwards and she was briefly hospitalized for psychiatric evaluation.

Spears has since made a career comeback, releasing a hit album “Circus” in December and now headlining her first concert tour in the United States since 2004.
